Senior Shopify Software Engineer
Job description
As a Senior Shopify Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, customizing, and optimizing Shopify stores. You will work closely with designers, marketers, and product teams to build high-performing eCommerce experiences.
You should be confident in working with Shopify (Shopify) Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and APIs.
Responsibilities and duties
- Develop and customize Shopify themes (Online Store 2.0)
- Build custom Shopify sections and reusable components
- Integrate third-party apps and custom APIs
- Optimize website speed and performance (Core Web Vitals)
- Debug and fix front-end and back-end issues
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers and marketing teams
- Manage product pages, collections, and checkout customization
- Maintain code quality, documentation, and version control (Git)
Requirements
MS
Technical skills
3–5+ years experience in Shopify development Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid Experience with Shopify theme architecture and metafields Familiar with Shopify APIs (Admin & Storefront) Experience in responsive design and cross-browser compatibility Understanding of performance optimization techniques Experience with Git and deployment workflows Bonus: Experience with WooCommerce or WordPress
